The Idaho State Fair was from August 30 to September 7. Located in 97 Park Street Blackfoot, ID 83221. The Idaho State Fair was first held in 1897. It mainly had animals such as sheep, horses, cattle, and pigs from all over Idaho. The fair was originally held in Boise, Idaho. It had not been held in Blackfoot like it is now. In 1902 the Fair Association brought about 84 acres of land to hold the fair. In the same year Buffalo Bill came to the fair, a few years later we had our first rodeo.
The fair has so many things for everyone. The events this year included rides, food, contents, races, shopping, horse pulling, barrel racing, and comedy shows. Attendees could also enjoy music by Craig Morgan and Journey, livestock barns filled with cattle, horses, ponies, pigs, goats, rabbits, and chickens, and even the Los Maralitos circus.
When you walk into the fair you are immediately surrounded by classic fair food. Fried twinkies and oreo’s, corn dogs, fries; some curly, some crosscut, others smothered in cheese, gyros, caramel apples, funnel cakes, pies, hamburgers etc.
The Idaho State Fair also had rides for all ages. Rainbow Ferris Wheels you can ride with friends or family. Alien Abduction you got on hoping no one pukes and spins so fast you can climb on the walls. Mirror mazes where you´ll see people run into walls. Carousels for your younger siblings. The fair has so many more rides you should check out for yourself
The fair also has all sorts of shows. Rodeos are extremely popular with over 600 contestants featured and 13,000 fans attending. If you’re not into rodeos there are also concerts from Journey and Craig Morgan, a country singer who sings songs like ¨ redneck yacht club¨.
The fair consists of so many new and classic attractions from all over Idaho. With roughly 250,000 people attending annually. The fair is a must go this summer so consider taking your friends and family this year!
