Everyone has a unique style when it comes to fashion and what they wear, which also depends on the younger generation and the older generation trends. The different views on fashion today and before are very different, but they still have many similarities. The biggest generational rivals in the fashion industry are Gen Z and Millennials. Gen Z looks for bold and unique clothing that helps make them feel comfortable and confident. Meanwhile, Millennials are looking for flatter-fitting and classic outfits. It’s true that many or most of the trends Gen Z wears are from the Millennials, but Gen Z is keeping the trends going through all sorts of social media platforms.
Millennials love skinny jeans and athleisure wear, while Gen Z loves baggy clothes. Although Millennials created it, they intended to make this style for hip-hop and not everyday wear. Millennials focus on the looks, and Gen Z focuses on the look and comfort of their clothes. Gen Z are maximizing their outfits, adding a variety of accessories. Millennials are minimizing their outfits, adding a more polished and neat look. Gen Z fashion is all about self-expression, while Millennials’ trends are about fitting in. That might be why some Millennials don’t understand some of the clothes Gen Z wear, but it goes both ways. Both generations have their own strengths and weaknesses in fashion, whether it’s high rise or low rise jeans, cropped or long shirts, baggy or skinny it doesn’t really matter. All that matters is if someone is comfortable and confident within their clothes. More styles are more accepted today than before.
