Metallica Returns with Savage Single
December 15, 2022
Just recently, on November 28th, 2022, Metallica dropped a new single out of nowhere! After six years of inactivity relating to new songs or even an album, “Lux Aeterna” was released and has fans in a tizzy. With the release of the single, the band has mentioned a new album coming; this also means a tour! Metallica will be performing regional concerts in 2023 and 2024. In the U.S, the closest concerts will be in Los Angeles and Seattle. They will also have some on the East Coast.
The song itself, “Lux Aeterna,” is fantastic! Lars’s speedy double kick gives old Metallica vibes, like in their first album, Kill em’ All, while also portraying newer Metallica with the guitar riffs. It’s only three minutes, like they used to do in the Kill em’ All era, but has the improved voice of James. Kirk’s solo still holds true to all eras of Metallica, and has the sounds of his we all know and love. The song is very high energy and is always at full speed and just rocks! Since Stranger Things gave Metallica a new wave of fans, “Lux Aeterna” brings back all the old, OG fans and will allow Metallica, one of the best metal bands, to reign once more. I’m so excited to see what this next album holds, and to see if it will be better than anything they’ve done! Their last album, Hardwired to Self Destruct, is one of my favorites; it’s also the most improved version of Metallica. Only time will tell until the brand new album comes!
